Hello
Yes the system is fully functional with no malfunctions, the extra features such as blind spot monitoring and camera give a safer driving experience. Having the sat nav map in front of driver is less distracting than having to look at touchscreen.
From my research for the following vehicles 508, 308 T9 (2014) 208, 2008, C4 Picasso (b78) 2014, DS4, DS5 and c4 Cactus they all use AEE2010 and PSA have developed two multiplex systems which operate very similar.
(1) A cheaper Eco multiplex for 208, 2008, cactus, DS4 and some lower end 308 T9 and C4 Picasso B78 (2014)
(2) A fully multiplexed option they use in higher end vehicles allows extra features such as hands free access starting and distance control radar etc.
The heart of the system is the BSI unit which while part numbers and software version differ are basically the same computer boxes with various CAN networks. It is feesable to add any feature you want across the range as long as the BSI software is latest version. Each component like 12" screen and Smeg plus can be specifically configured to map feature set for the car it is installed in! for example you can enable or disable the ECO stop and start etc so the fuction is masked if hardware not available.
I have found adding components work as plug and play - example the 12" dash colour screen from C4 B78 uses same connector as 208 however much time is needed to study wiring diagrams and the wiring pins are sometimes in wrong sequence. When component is added to the system I use PSA Diagtool to manipulate to work via 208. A bit fiddly but possible for all ECU so far!
This weekend I'm installing the 360 panoramic camera system from C4 Picasso B78. This works on the ECO multiplexed system and is seamless. I will upload another You Tube video ASAP.
My next challenge to upgrade my 208 to fully multiplexed system so I can add the remaining features.
I am not engineer just an enthusiast! I spend almost a year researching testing and working on my car - I must have some madness
