In the week of the Paris motor show, French manufacturer Peugeot has announced a new model celebrating 29 years of strong sales for its various GTi models in the UK.
The seminal 205 GTi hot hatch was launched in 1984, so Peugeot will be making 29 examples of the UK-only limited edition 208 GTi.
The 29 cars, featuring enhanced specification, will go on sale next spring, priced at £20,495. All will be finished in exclusive satin pearlescent white paint with special 17in alloy wheels.
Each car will be individually numbered from 01 to 29 and will feature a British flag on the lower grille. The specification includes satellite navigation and, for the first time on a Peugeot, a DAB digital radio (DAB).
Production of the special edition GTi is scheduled for next April and the cars will be delivered ahead of the 208 GTi official launch in May.
